Little lights
Some flashing
Bring a tree inside
Craziness for Christmas
Oh how it excites
As adult I'm child again
Full of wild wonder
And yet some certain say
Have we forgot the reason?
Perhaps we can forget it
Beneath the bags and bows
But too within tradition
Lies a message just below
One all feel if open
One which says you can
One which speaks of magic
Imagining again
Santa Clause when at his best
Flying reindeer too
Permission to stay up at night
And presents just for you
All sing if we will listen
A permission of their own
For if I can cut this tree down
And drag it on inside
And fill my house with glitter
Just like the snow outside
Than truly there is wonder
In this wide and wintery world
And if that ain't your Jesus
Than Mary ain't your girl.
