Story

Let me tell you a story

I get eyes and ears

Your heart engages

All else disappears

Story time

The time of new worlds

Of growing wisdom

Most valuable pearls

Even the rowdiest

Gladly sits still

For a good story telling

It beats any pill

And if I invite

You to tell me one too

I can expect

New life to fill you

Creator hat on

Idea wheel spinning

You’re a storyteller now

It must mean you’re winning

You’ll either draw back

To one you’ve heard or you’ve lived

Let me join in your knowing

You are hiSTORYan

Or you’ll start weaving

With characters new

A fictional tale

You made up out of the blue

And either way

Something will happen ‘tween us

We’ll share more than a moment

A substance because

Because your story has soul

And so does my own

Through it we connect

Through it we feel known

Oh story you marvelous

Life-giving stuff

Another round please

One’s never enough
